Some ships in EVE are just so rare and elusive that seeing them is a once in a lifetime thing. So rare, in fact, that CCP forgets to update them with art passes.

The second ever Revenant was destroyed on September 6th, which showed this in action; the dead Revenant left behind an Aeon wreck, instead of a Revenant wreck. This Revenant was not destroyed as part of a plot that rocked the foundations of EVE, but instead as part of an event organized and funded by a well known EVE gambling site. The Revenant was "sacrificed to the EVE gods", and all were welcome to come participate. With just under 5000 players in Nisuwa local, the capsuleers of EVE set a new record for local count.

With 5000 people in local, many big names in EVE made an apperance. Some of the more prominent groups included Pandemic Legion, with a 150+ Tempest Fleet Issue fleet, as well as HERO, with 250 Moa / Eagle fleet. While most fleets targeted the Revenant itself, there were a few potshots between old friends and enemies. Once the Revenant was destroyed, the grid turned into a battle royale, with many fleets brawling to the bitter end. HERO choose to stay, fight, and hold the field, while PL opted to camp the out gate, leading to a steady stream of kills from players looking to leave Nisuwa as fast as possible.

Pandemic Legion 에소속된 그룹들은 150 대 이상의 Tempest Fleet Issue 으로 구성된 함대를 구성했으며, HERO 는 250 대의 Moa 와 Eagle 로 구성된 함대를 구성했습니다. 대부분의 함대가 Revenant 를 타겟으로 삼았지만, 옛친구와 적을 향해 발사된 것들도 있었습니다. However, the sponsoring website may have a little bit of trouble handing out the promised awards, as the Revenant killmail has yet to be generated.

While some players claim that it is a ploy by the sponsoring website to get away without paying, others claim that the killmail's size caused problems with the server and data was lost. There is no way to know if either of these are true; however, the mail itself has yet to turn up.

It is estimated that, with the amount of people in local, the killmail could have up to 4000 participants, making it the largest killmail ever.

Update: The event organizers stated that they have combat logs and will use those to determine who should be rewarded if the killmail fails to materialize.
