Black Legion <MEN.> (BL) and their allies have once again tangled with the Clusterfuck Coalition (CFC) in the expanding circles of war in Oceanus. However, as BL Tengus took the field for the third engagement in four days against arguably the largest CFC fleet to date in this war, it was the smallest of the Goon-led fleets whose actions resulted in the most destruction yet visited upon either side in the still-opening days of the conflict.

Just after 1800 UTC on the 5th of October, four fleets of Goonswarm Federation <CONDI> and the CFC departed the capital system of YA0-XJ with a simple mission: oversee the repair of a reinforced tower in ROIR-Y in NPC Pure Blind. Expecting interference from BL, the CFC set out with a force they deemed suffienct to serve as a deterrent. Spearheaded by Hawks from both the northern and southern arms of the CFC, the operation was buttressed by a Tengu Fleet under Red Crown, as well as a full Baltec Fleet under Shock Fist, with the CFC's Bootcarrier and triage on-field to do the heavy lifting of the repair work, and a small wing of pilots from Bomberwaffe, under the command of veteran Fleet Commander (FC) and EVE Online personality-at-large, Dabigredboat.

As work proceeded unmolested on the ROIR-Y tower, the CFC fleets received word of activity in JE-D5U, 5 jumps away: Black Legion, assisted by Mordus Angels <MOA> and Nulli Secunda <S2N>, reinforcing another tower with Tengus, Abaddons, and dreadnaughts. Fleets quickly began to organize and move out, with the Baltecs remaining on-field the longest in order to guard the capital extraction. As a result, the Baltec fleet would completely miss everything to come, trapped for much of the action in 10% Time Dilation (TiDi) over the course of a 217au warp.

Despite the best efforts of the CFC FCs and the quick insertion of the bomberwaffe group, the Black Legion dreads were able to complete their siege cycles and extract without incident, long before their opponents could reach them. With his capitals safely out, and most the CFC forces only beginning to reach the adjacent system of R6XN-9, Elo Knight seems to have decided to take the fight in R6XN, possibly intending to catch the CFC Tengus between his own Tengus and the Nulli Secunda Abaddons.

Whatever his intentions, TiDi in R6XN-9 apparently had its own idea, and the Abaddon fleet did not immediately enter system. Possibly running with hardeners off in order to maintain capacitor charge, as Pulse Abaddons are notoriously cap-hungry, the S2N fleet was still waiting on the gate when the Bomberwaffe group decloaked. The leaders of the two fleets had this to say when contacted for comment:

So our bombs start to explode 9 at a time or so, with 30 bombers in total, and the first thing to explode was their gang bonus ships (Lokis) that were stuck, and after noticing them still not jumping, I start jumping up and down in my seat and finally notice abaddons starting to vanish and they are not going though the gate but just exploding. Tidi hits and the bombs go off in a shiny fashion and that was that."

Nulli Secunda FC Progodlegend: "We warped to the gate, pressed jump, nothing happened for 20 seconds, then bombers slowly started decloaking, we kept clicking jump, nothing happened, we tried to move or do other things, shit was unresponsive, then we all died.  Shit happens.  It's EVE and the game can behave unpredictably at times."

Nulli Secunda 함대사령관 Progodlegend:

All in all, eight-five (85) battleships and six (6) strategic cruisers were destroyed among the Nulli forces, before they could jump into R6XN-9, including one Nestor configured for short-range logistics work. In the wake of the bombing, many of the pods regrouped briefly at the sun before looking for an extraction route. Those who jumped into R6XN fared no better, joining the allied Tengus in facing CFC Hawks and Tengus, as well as Kcolor's nigh-obligatory Bootcarrier fleet. However, as the killmail of a second of three Nestors lost in the extended hostilities confirms, CFC Supercarriers and Titans, led by Kilgarth, had also taken the field.

The results of the engagement place the losses at 1.23b lost among the CFC fleets, vs 37.1b ISK destroyed between Nulli, MOA, and Black Legion. Fighting their way back to the JE- gate, the survivors of the engagement joined with the pilots of the lost Abaddons in seeking temporary refuge in the NPC station system of 5ZXX-K. Though some have been killed by CFC roaming defense fleets, it is likely most will extract safely during the North American overnight before downtime.

The two CFC capital commanders, when asked for comment, had this to say:

The CFC Skymarshall, Blawrf McTaggart, offered as a comment only a link to the same image he has provided after each of the prior engagements.

When asked about reports that Nulli Abaddon pilots were petitioning the loss, Progodlegend stated:
